  23. I also have only an 030/25, but I think, for any reasonable user (ie no hardcore
  24. raytracing, etc) its speed is sufficient. OK, I _do_ have a CV64, which makes a
  25. hires 256 colour screen fun to use (24 bit is too slow), but when I am doing
  26. normal things, the 030/25 (FPU 25mhz, no MMU) is fine!

  28. And since the Walker is designed as the *entry level* computer for *normal*
  29. users, IMHO the CPU is fast enough. The problem is the graphics speed...
  30. browsing the web in either relatively quick 640x512x16 or incredibly slow x256
  31. is pointless.

  46. Yep, less sales, prices MUST be higher than the equivalent. This is fixed a
  47. little by the efficient OS, so they are not *that much* higher. And you still
  48. get an _Amiga_ instead of a windozePC, and IMO that is worth paying *extra* for!
  49. Just because it has a CPU that has less MHz, doesn't mean it has to cost less.

  54. Current RAM prices here in Germany: DM 114,- per 4MB SIMM. Price to change my
  55. 680EC30 to a full 68030 : ~DM 150,- . I think I'd rather get another 6MB than a
  56. MMU. (But then I couldn't run NetBSD..) But the *normal* users that the Walker
  57. is made for don't care about NetBSD. Therefore, IMHO, forget the MMU.
